FundedBuy is an invitation only marketplace and procurement platform for venture or angel backed companies. We help funded companies become capital efficient and remain focused on product and growth by providing them with expertly negotiated deals and guidance on all the goods and services that they need to grow. Access to the platform is by invitation through VCs and angels only.

The Problem We're Solving

We've been there. It's easy for companies to waste countless hours when identifying and selecting the products and services they need to build out their business and infrastructure. In many cases, important things fall through the cracks or companies get taken advantage of if they lack expertise, connections, negotiating power or, in many cases, the time and energy to do all the due diligence necessary to make the smartest choice. As of yet, there isn't a trusted place where funded companies can find information, recommendations, price information and access to volume discounts to help with their purchasing and budgeting decisions.

Our mission is to “cut your burn” by saving you time and money while helping you make the smartest choices for your business. As a venture or angel backed startup, we bring you expertly negotiated deals and guidance for free. We only work with top vetted brands and service providers and while we want to save you money, this isn't about cheap–because as we all know, cheap can be expensive. Instead, we make sure you are presented with the best deals you can get with these top brands upfront–saving you a lot of time and energy in your search process and giving you a sense of confidence in your decisions.

Our value to partners and vendors is this: FundedBuy offers an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the next great, fast growing companies. And, because they are funded by top VCs or angels, they inherently come with huge market potential. In other words, you want to reach this market any way possible. We suggest to them that if they are going to make a bet and offer the best deals and incentives to any companies, best to bet on these companies that top VC's and angels have already vetted and which have the largest potential for growth. Then, we ask them to give us their volume discounts upfront, their very best available pricing and benefits that are unavailable anywhere else, and allow us to do some “collective buying”...and they do, these are the prices and deals we are able to procure. The vendors and partners we work with are not only willing to give us the best available prices for you, but pay us a bonus or sponsorship to attract the new, valuable customers we bring them–it is their investment in growth. Our Team

Beth Schoenfeldt CEO

Beth has been a friend and mentor to entrepreneurs around the world for over ten years, contributing to the launch of thousands of businesses. Beth has successfully launched four profitable businesses culminating in her latest venture: FundedBuy.

Due to her reputation as a cutting edge thinker and expert on starting and growing businesses, some of the world's top media have turned to Beth for her insights into the latest trends among entrepreneurs and startups. Beth has been featured in outlets including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, TIME Magazine, Elle, the TODAY show, The Street, and MSNBC. In 2010 Beth received the Distinguished Alumnae Award presented by Columbia Business School and Columbia Women in Business.

After graduating from Texas A&M with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and earning her MBA from Columbia University, Beth developed marketing and sales programs for major international brands including Clinique, American Express, and iBeauty.com. She went on to establish the highly successful learning solutions company FLOinc, then co-founded Ladies Who Launch (LWL). Beth grew this lifestyle and business-focused media company to over 53 cities and over 100,000 members. Beth left LWL to found Collective-E, a unique member-based entrepreneurs’ agency and brand community. With Beth’s latest venture FundedBuy, she has partnered with LaunchTime Incubator to build a platform that gives startups access to volume discounts and the very best service from top vendors. FundedBuy has already saved startups hundreds of thousands of dollars in operating costs and countless hours in research and negotiation.

Benjamin Sun Co-Founder

Benjamin is an internet entrepreneur and angel investor. Mr. Sun is a co-founder and partner of LaunchTime LLC, an incubator focused on digital media and e-commerce. Previously, Mr. Sun’s was at Community Connect Inc. where he served as President & CEO for 12 years. Mr. Sun co-founded Community Connect Inc. in 1996 and grew the company to be a leading online publisher targeting various niche markets. Mr. Sun has been recognized as playing a major role in bringing social networking into its modern day popularity while paving the way for advertisers and marketers to reach and engage niche market consumers online. Additionally, he has been responsible for developing the largest online diversity recruiting service in partnership with Monster Worldwide Inc. to allow corporations to source a more diverse candidate pool. Mr. Sun has been profiled by Crain’s New York Business as one of the top under-40 executives to watch. Prior to helping launch Community Connect, Mr. Sun worked in Merrill Lynch’s Technology Investment Banking Group where he was involved in numerous corporate finance and merger and acquisition transactions in the technology industry. He executed over $500 million in equity financing transactions for Internet, enterprise software, and wire and cable industry companies. Mr. Sun holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Michigan.

Beth Ferreira Advisor

Beth is currently the COO of Fab.com and is a consultant and advisor to early-stage companies. Prior to Fab, Beth was Vice President of Finance and Operations and an early employee at Etsy, Inc. the leading online marketplace for all things handmade. Prior to joining Etsy, Beth was a member of the investment team at Flatiron Partners, working closely with Fred Wilson, Jerry Colonna and Bob Greene. During her tenure, she supported the partners as the portfolio grew to 57 investments. She has also held positions at The Boston Consulting Group, advising media, consumer and technology clients on critical strategic and operational challenges and began her career as an investment banker in the financial sponsor coverage group at Union Bank of Switzerland. Megan Hannum Partner

As a partner at FundedBuy, Megan is responsible for business development & expansion. She has worked closely with hundreds of early-stage startups, accelerators and funds to get them set up efficiently and optimize their operating expenses so founders can focus on product and growth.

Megan is a venture consultant to Comcast Ventures. In her role, she works across the investment team to source and evaluate investment opportunities as well as a liaison to NBCU Media Labs on innovation strategy & global expansion.

Previously she served as a venture partner to LaunchTime LLC with FundedBuy founder Benjamin Sun, focused on incubating and investing in digital media and e-commerce companies.

Megan was a part of the founding team at MPOWERD — a consumer products company that develops and manufactures transformative clean energy solutions — where she worked closely with the CEO on a full spectrum of responsibilities.

Prior to diving into the startup ecosystem, Megan worked in freelance production at Campfire NYC (acquired by Sapient) and Sony Pictures. She got her start in the Global Branded Entertainment & Music Touring departments at International Creative Management (ICM) in Los, Angeles, CA while studying Music Business at the Musician’s Institute.

Megan is an advisor to OCHO and former host of the Music Startup MeetUp held at Union Square Ventures.

Mark Perera Advisor

Mark is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and startup advisor who has spent most of the last decade building companies in the procurement world. His first business, Procurement Leaders, quickly grew to become the leading community of Global 2000 procurement executives, helping them connect and share best practice. Its portfolio includes face-to-face events around the world, an industry award scheme, magazines and web community sites. Mark's second business, the Procurement Intelligence Unit, offers large businesses a subscription service to access market intelligence and optimise their procurement functions. Mark is recognised as a leading innovator in the world of procurement and is currently working on a new startup focusing on optimising business relationships. He also advises and mentors companies in the areas of payments innovation, spend analysis, invoice processing, mobile advertising and talent management. He is an active member of the London technology startup community and a convert to the lean startup / customer development approach to launching and running businesses. Mark has a BSc from the University of Southampton and lives in London with his wife and two daughters.
